NEW TO MYSORE PRACTICE? WELCOME!
At Mysore Yoga Paris we are passionate about helping you develop a sustainable and life-long Self Practice. Our Introduction to Mysore classes and Intensive Courses are held in small intimate groups for maximum individual guidance and support. They are suitable for beginners as well as students who have taken guided Ashtanga classes, or other types of Yoga classes before, but who now wish to develop a self-practice. You will start to memorise the first part of the Ashtanga sequence, synchronising breath and movement, allowing you to take the first steps towards cultivating your own practice. The teacher will guide you where necessary – sometimes verbally and sometimes by giving tactile adjustments – and over time will encourage you to become increasingly independent in your practice.
Our Intro classes run alongside the regular Mysore class, meaning we have all levels of practitioner practising together in the room – some with a lot of experience, such as Yoga teachers, next to others who are just beginning. Mysore Style is considered the ideal and safest way for a beginner to learn Ashtanga Yoga, since the practice is developed according to the constitution, readiness and ability of each individual. Over time our Introduction students move seamlessly into regular Mysore practice.
HOW TO BEGIN..?
4-DAY INTRO TO MYSORE INTENSIVE COURSE | SEPT 16-19 2019
Mon 16/9: 7.30-9.00am (1h30); Tues 17/9, Wed 18/9, Thur 19/9: 7.30-8.30am (1h/class)
Our Introduction to Mysore Intensive Course run over 4 consecutive mornings. This will enable you to develop your self-practice in the most efficient way possible. Classes are held in small intimate groups (maximum of 10 students) for optimal individual guidance and support. The Intro Course is suitable for complete beginners as well as students who have taken guided Ashtanga classes, or other types of Yoga classes before, but who now wish to develop a self-practice.
The Intensive course includes a practice and work book detailing sequences & mantras; free use of yoga mat; free Mysore Class at the end of your course and a 50% discount on your first Mysore class card.

Can´t make it to our Introduction Course?
INTRODUCTION TO MYSORE IN OUR REGULAR MYSORE CLASS
In a Mysore Class we always have students of all different levels practicing side-by-side, and beginners are most welcome to join. As a beginner you start at 7.30am in order for the teacher to introduce you to the practice. Your first class you will be shown the Sun Salutations and how to synchronise breath and movement. You can expect your first session to be about 30 mins to allow you to integrate the information and begin to memorise the sequence. Next time you will repeat what you have learned and gradually postures will be added to your sequence according to your own readiness until you become increasingly independent in your practice. In order for you to be able to memorise and progress in your sequence, it is important to practice regularly so we ask beginners to come to practice at least 2-3 times per week.
Cultivating a Self Practice is by far the safest and most beneficial way to learn and to journey deeper in yoga since the practice is developed according to each individuals´ capacity and intention. This traditional way of learning requires patience, dedication and trusting the process of yoga to unfold and blossom in its own time. If you are completely new to Ashtanga Yoga you are also welcome to come in and observe a class to see how it works.
